Karachi: The Pakistan Banks’ Association (PBA) has praised the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority (NPHDA) on achieving the PKR 53 billion house loan disbursement milestone via print advertisement. The ad was shared in the national dailies on March 4.
The PBA also congratulated and lauded the management of all the partner commercial banks for helping people realize their dream of owning a house through the house loan programme.
Through the same advertisement, the PBA asked the citizens to call on their 24/7 active helpline 033-77-786-786 to seek complete details about the house loans and home financing services.
It is worth noting the central bank urged commercial banks to boost the minimum amount of housing loans to 7% of the overall disbursements to the private sector in 2022. Before this, banks had 18 months to disburse 5%. In addition, the SBP has also lowered the markup rate on the Tier-1 loan schemes to a maximum of 5%.
