Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has directed owners of five illegal housing schemes to stop advertisement and development, a news source reported. The notice warns that if the development and advertising campaigns are not halted immediately, action would be taken against the schemes and their offices in Rawalpindi will be sealed.
According to RDA spokesman Hafiz Irfan, the notices have been issued under the Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010. RDA has advised the general public to not make any investment in the unauthorised housing schemes declared illegal by RDA.
RDA authorities also requested Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) and PTCL to not provide services to these housing schemes.
