In addition, the GDA has also notified the Gujranwala Electric Power Company and Sui Northern Gas Supply Limited to not issue connections for utility services to all such housing schemes and land subdivisions that have not been approved by the government authority. It further directed these utility service providers to investigate the matter of how these illegal societies received utility connections in the past.

Commenting on the situation, the GDA chairman stated that illegal housing schemes not only lead to loss of revenue for the national exchequer, but they also leave property owners unsatisfied with their purchase. He went on to vow that the housing schemes that did not stop the illegal development of their properties even after receiving a legal notice, would face the prospect of the GDA razing all the infrastructure within these societies.
