Rawalpindi: On special instructions of the Rawalpindi deputy commissioner, the Civil Defence Department has issued red notices to the developers of high-rise buildings, owners of factories, and managers of petrol agencies, petrol pumps and CNG stations found lacking firefighting equipment, a news source reported.

As per details, these notices were sent to a total of 1,263 people, including owners of cardboard factories, warehouses, shopping malls, shoe manufacturers, and producers of plastic items and tires. These facilities are located in various districts of Rawalpindi Division including Rawalpindi, Murree, kahuta, Kalar Syedan, Kotli Sattiyan, Taxila, and Gojar Khan.

The recipients have been asked to procure proper firefighting supplies in 10 days or else these business set ups, premises and/or buildings will be sealed. This is in addition to the imposition of heavy fines in case of non-compliance.
