Karachi: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) recently conducted an operation against illegal buildings in various parts of the city – a news source reported. The bulk of the structures targeted during the drive were either demolished or sealed, and two residential projects in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Federal B area had their NOC’s revoked. Additionally, the public was warned against investing in these projects – till further notice.

Furthermore, each project has been barred from selling or advertising their properties. The cancellation of NOCs also means that they will not be able to proceed with any kind of construction until they resolve this situation with the relevant authorities.

The SBCA Demolition Squad also knocked down one floor of an unauthorised marriage hall, while another in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town was completely demolished. A similar operation in Gadap Town saw a private school and an illegal booking office sealed, while several shops were razed to the ground.
