Rawalpindi: The Islamabad district magistrate has issued the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) and route permit for the tourist double-decker bus service for the twin cities, a news source reported. Meanwhile, the Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) has also begun the preparations for initiating the bus service.

According to sources, the authorities concerned will officially inaugurate the bus service within the first ten days of April. Advisor to the Chief Minister (CM) on Tourism Asif Mehmood, Commissioner Muhammad Mehmood, and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anwar ul Haq will inaugurate the bus service.
Sources reveal that the work on constructing the bus terminal in Allama Iqbal Park, Shamsabad for the tourist double-decker bus service will begin from March 26. They reported that preparations in this regard were also underway. Construction of the bus terminal, along with the ‘ticket house’ in the park’s parking area is also set to begin.
As per sources, the bus will feature a design representing Punjab’s culture. Artists will include the visuals of Shah Faisal Mosque, Lok Virsa, and Shakar Parian on the bus. The bus service will reach the Shah Faisal Mosque via the route of Faizabad Lok Virsa, Shakar Parian, Chand Tara, China Complex, and Secretariat. From the Shah Faisal Mosque, it will return to the terminal at the Allama Iqbal Park.

CM’s advisor revealed that officials concerned would complete the bus’s decoration within two weeks. He added that the PHA would initiate the buses for other locations in the future.
