Punjab Industry, Commerce and Trade Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal chaired a review meeting to check the progress of NOCs issued for the installation of new cement factories. During the meeting, the problems for the delay in the establishment of new cement companies were discussed. The minister was updated that only a few manufacturers have started working on the NOCs due to environmental and other issues.
Moreover, it was reported that the government has asked the cement producers to provide a timeline for the implementation of the project within a week. The government provided NOCs on a fast-track basis in order to create employment opportunities, promote the construction sector, and improve investment.

It is pertinent to mention that the new industries are being established in the province because of the pro-industry policies of the incumbent government. So far, 10 NOCs have been issued and more will be issued after the cabinet approval.
