At a meeting held on Monday, Mr Jaan stated that for an environmentally-friendly infrastructure of the city, the administration has deemed that builders would have to comply with four conditions in order for the Environment NOC to be issued in the Lahore Division. These conditions include:
- Installation of solar systems
- Certified energy-efficient devices
- Water recycling plants
- Electric vehicle charging stations in the building’s parking area.
The commissioner also remarked that energy savings, water conservation, and smog control are of utmost importance for the city and EV stations will help reach a sustainable solution. He warned that any building that followed the above conditions would not be issued a NOC. He said that the energy crisis, water shortage, and smog were a menace for the metropolitan cities, including Lahore.
