Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued another letter to halt plot transfers without the scrutiny committee’s approval, according to news sources. It took this step to prevent new cases of fraudulent plot allotment.

The scrutiny committee was constituted by Land Director Shafi Marwat to ensure that plots are allotted based on genuine and authentic documentation and in a transparent manner.
Reportedly, many prime plot allotments in Sectors D-13, E-13 ad I-12, up until March, were conducted through fraudulent practices like backdating and fake signatures. One CDA Security Directorate also highlighted fraudulent and backdated allotments of more than 300 plots last year. A formal inquiry was then launched to verify the matter.

Meanwhile, the CDA team is also surveying layout plans and physical sites of cooperative housing societies to examine the ground situation of public and amenity plots. Out of 15 such societies, a survey of seven has been conducted so far.
