Rawalpindi: After the 7.5-magnitude earthquake hit parts of Pakistan, Afghanistan and India on October 26, reports of several cracks in the pillars of the Metro Bus track surfaced. In response, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) fully dismissed these accounts in a timely manner.
The supposed cracks were reportedly seen along the track at the 6th Road junction, Mareer Chowk, Committee Chowk, and Faizabad. However, RDA Deputy Director Engineering Omer Farooq categorically told Zameen.com that the track was thoroughly inspected during the night, and again in daylight, and no such damage exists.
According to Farooq, the Metro Bus service is fully operational and passengers should continue to use the facility without any concerns.
