Karachi: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has decided that no action will be taken on a number of matters without consumer number, a news source reported. Challan will not be issued for personal matters, and plot auction, sale or transfer without the consumer number.
KMC plans to increase its revenue by charging Municipal Utility Tax (MUT). The tax is expected to increase KMC’s revenue by PKR 18 billion to PKR 25 billion. All the departments have been instructed to stop issuing challans without MUT numbers.
