Islamabad: The National Logistics Cell (NLC) has started construction on the bus stops on the routes of the Green and Blue Lines Metro Bus service in Islamabad, according to news published in the national dailies on June 5.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sought help from NLC to establish bus stops on Islamabad Expressway, from Gulberg to Faizabad, for the Blue Line metro and from Bhara Kahu to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for the Green Line metro. The civic agency wants to operationalise the bus service within two months.

Previously, the CDA acquired 30 buses from China which were shipped to Karachi last week. As per the details, 12 buses were parked at the Peshawar Mor Metro Depot whereas the remaining buses will reach the city next week. It was disclosed that 15 buses will be operated on the Airport metro route while 5 buses will be reserved for Green Line and 10 for Blue line services. CDA Metro Bus Project Director Nauman Sheikh hoped that both the buses will be launched in a few weeks.
