Faisalabad: Nine sites in the Faisalabad district are being considered for the prime minister’s Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP), according to a news report. The district administration is looking at both rural and urban land for this purpose.
NPHP was launched in the district on 22nd October 2018, by Punjab Housing Minister Mahmoodur Rashid at the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium.
An official revealed that 8.95 acres of vacant land is available in Chak 121-GB, Gokhuwal, which is two kilometres away from Lasani Pulley Sargodha Road. He also said that 25 acres were available opposite 112-KV Grid Station at Chak 119-JB on Millat Road, which is 11 km from Millat Chowk and 4 km from Dhanola, while 23.6 acres were available at Chak 263-RB, Dijkot about 33 km from Faisalabad and adjacent to Abadi Dijkot.
Two pieces of land sized 13.7 acres and 8.3 acres are also being considered at Chak 117-JB, 15 km away from city near the main dry port. Other options being considered are 12.6 acres in Chak 469-GB, 13.3 acres in Chak 187-RB, 50 acres at Chak 109-RB in Sain de Khoi, and 73 acres near the Aashian Housing Scheme on Jaranwala Road. Most of these options fall in the rural areas, with only two being situated in urban areas.
The official stated that this identification of land lends more credibility to NPHP and encourage relevant businesses to participate in the project. It was also revealed that till yesterday (25th October), 6,000 applications had been submitted to the DC office.
