Peshawar: The National Highway Authority (NHA) is working on the dualisation and upgradation of the 83-kilometre-long Old Bannu Road in the District Bannu of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), according to news published on September 29.

An official of NHA (whose name was not disclosed) mentioned that the said project was part of Indus Highway and it will be completed in phases. Under the first package, the contract for the 40-kilometre-long Domail-Khurram section was awarded to the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO). So far, 59% of the work has been completed.

Moreover, the contract for the second package – the 35-kilometre Khurram-Krapa section – was also awarded to FWO. Currently, the work is 58% complete due to the lack of funds. The award for the third package – 8-kilometre Gaandi Chowk- Sarai Naurang portion – was given to M/s NCC-IKAN-HRPL joint venture. The work on the said section has been completed.
