Islamabad: National Highway Authority (NHA) Chairman Captain Muhammad Khurram Agha on Saturday (August 14) announced that NHA has a comprehensive plan in place to plant saplings along the motorway and highway network across the country, according to news sources.

The NHA chairman, while talking to the media, stated that NHA is working hard to make eco-friendly roads across the country for making it aesthetically pleasing for the travellers and reverse the adverse impacts of global warming as per the vision of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. Reportedly, Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed has also instructed the authority to do the same.
In this regard, the Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar planted a tree in Punjab North Region at the invitation of the NHA Rawalpindi Maintenance Unit. Likewise, the Minister and Adviser to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar launched a plantation drive at Motorway Chowk on N-5. Rawalpindi Commissioner Gulzar Hussain Shah and Rawalpindi Station Commander Brig Ijaz Qamar also planted saplings at N-5.

During the tree plantation drive along N-5, the chairman asked everyone to participate in the advanced afforestation drive to make Pakistan Cleaner and Greener.
