Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has started advertising tenders for the repair and construction of highways across the country, which were damaged by the recent heavy floods and rain spell, according to news published on August 3.

According to an NHA spokesperson (whose name was not disclosed), the zonal offices are working on the restoration of traffic on several roads. It was mentioned Federal Minister of Communications Asad Mahmood is supervising the restoration work of national highways. Currently, the authority is working to remove stagnant flood water and eliminate weeds on Lahore Eastern Bypass and Gujrat bypass.

Moreover, the repair work on Lunda Bridge in Balochistan was completed and was opened to traffic. It was shared that the Hasanabdal-Thakot and Mansehra-Gittidas sections of the highway are open to the public. The mud clearance activities on the Thakot-Sazin section have been accelerated for the restoration of the road.
