Sialkot: The National Highway Authority (NHA) Executive Board has approved the revised Project Concept-1 (PC-1) of the Sialkot-Narowal link road project, news sources reported on February 20.

The 73-kilometre-long, 4-lane Sialkot-Narowal road will connect the Narrowal and Narang Mandi with the Sialkot-Lahore Motorway (M-11). As per the sources, the project would cost PKR 74 billion and would be an extension of the M-11, reducing commute times for vehicles coming from the border region. The NHA has sent the revised PC-1 to the Ministry of Planning and Development (P&D) and the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for final approval.

In addition to this, the NHA Board also approved the following projects:
- PKR 10.95 billion for the construction of 48-kilometre-long Section III of the Chakdara-Chitral Road Project (N-45) from 4 Kalkatak-Chitral
- PKR 2.60 billion for the 18-kilometre-long Paharpur-BandKorai-Rodikhel-Sidra Morr (N-55) project
- Installation of Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) on the rest of motorways as per Concession Agreements and Regular Agreements/Rules/etc
