Lahore: The Executive Board of the National Highway Authority (NHA) forwarded a proposal for the construction of two flyovers at the railways crossing on the Lodhran Bypass, a news source reported. In addition, the authority is also planning on developing the 62-kilometre (km)-long, north bound Lodhran-Multan section of the N-5.

These propositions were put forth at a meeting chaired by NHA Chairman Captain Sikander Qayyum (retd). After detailed deliberations, the NHA submitted the PC-1 of N-5, and the flyovers project, for approval to the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) and the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC). According to sources, the projects are estimated to cost PKR 13.002 million, and CDWP and ECNEC may rationalise this cost.

Furthermore, the NHA executive board’s member planning also received instructions to prepare and present a comprehensive policy for highways that pass through the urban areas.
