Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Service Murad Saeed launched the initiative. He said that this facility would increase efficiency while effectively placing checks on corruption. It is meant to save time and costs, while improving managerial control and facilitating the contractors, he added.
Through the system, contractors will now be able to submit bills at the online billing portal. Consultants will then verify the bill and the concerned project authority will implement the required checks before approving the payment. The Finance Wing will oversee the processing and approval of the amount before releasing it to the beneficiary.

Saeed informed the press that the e-billing system was an in-house development, developed solely by the NHA. The system will address complaints and issues of delays. It will create a relationship of mutual confidence between contractors and the NHA, he added.
