Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has installed an intelligent transportation and road monitoring system – a news source reported.

NHA Chairman Jawwad Rafique Malik shared these views during a visit to the NHA monitoring room. Members of the authority’s executive board also attended the briefing.
NHA has linked its intelligent transportation system (ITS), located at the Lahore-Abdul Hakeem (Khanewal) section of M-3, with its Islamabad office. ITS will be able to efficiently handle emergencies and reduce accidents.

NHA will install this system on several other highways. These include Dera Ismail Motorway and Multan-Sukkur Motorway. The officials will also install fibre-optic cables, LED screens, and electronic toll collection booths on these road sections.
