Islamabad: Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, has given the National Highway Authority (NHA) a two-month deadline to improve its performance, warning that delays in road projects will not be tolerated. Chairing a high-level meeting, he expressed dissatisfaction with the NHA’s progress and made it clear that underperforming officials will be dismissed.

The minister stressed the need for transparency in developmental projects and urged NHA officers to ensure the timely completion of road construction. He noted that project delays lead to significant cost overruns, making efficiency a top priority.
Abdul Aleem Khan directed that projects already in advanced stages should be prioritized for completion. He also emphasized that public funds must be used effectively and urged NHA officials to work with dedication and commitment.

During the meeting, the minister was briefed on ongoing and planned road projects in Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other regions. The government aims to accelerate infrastructure development to enhance connectivity and economic growth.
