Islamabad: The National Highways Authority (NHA) Executive Board has approved the annual maintenance plan 2022-2023 totalling PKR 62.917 billion and carrying forward liabilities from previous years amounting to PKR 47.388 billion, a news source reported on February 14.

During the meeting, the NHA Executive Board has directed to improve the planning process for the annual maintenance plan and merge the un-awarded schemes in the next plan. The board has also asked the NHA to revise the Composite Schedule Rates (CSR) on an annual basis.
Moreover, the board has recommended extending the validity period of the Loan Agreement for 18 months, from November 1, 2022, to April 30, 2024, for onward submission to Korean Exim Bank via Economic Affairs Division.
Reportedly, the NHA Executive Board approved awarding the OM&M contract of Mansehra Toll Plaza (N-35). The Executive Board has asked the member to prepare and issue timelines for the execution of the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) project. The members were directed to start execution of the said project immediately and set up Project Management Unit (PMU) at NHA headquarter.

In the meeting, the board asked the members concerned to prepare a comprehensive report in collaboration with National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) regarding encroachments, illegal access and unnecessary U-turns on Islamabad-Murree Dual Carriageway.
