Islamabad: The National Highways Authority (NHA) has called upon the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to prioritize repair and renovation of the section of Murree Road that suffered damages during the construction of the Bhara Kahu Bypass, as per the news reports shared on September 21.

Pursuant to the provided information, numerous complaints from the public regarding the poor and bumpy condition of the road prompted the NHA to convene a meeting with CDA officials. The meeting, chaired by the NHA Member Engineering and Coordination, took place at the NHA headquarters and was attended by relevant officers from both organizations.
During the meeting, NHA officials urged the CDA to commence repair work on Murree Road promptly to alleviate the inconvenience faced by the public. The CDA’s Director General and other officials assured the NHA officials that work would begin soon, and the department has already been in discussions with the National Logistic Cell (NLC) in this regard.

It is noteworthy that Murree Road falls under the jurisdiction of the NHA, while the Bhara Kahu bypass is owned by the CDA. During the construction of the bypass, the section of Murree Road underneath the flyover incurred significant damage. However, despite the completion of the bypass, the CDA has yet to initiate repairs.
