Rawalpindi: The water supply from Rawal Dam to Rawalpindi has begun from a new line that has been connected to the main water line, a news source reported. The old line had corroded and was causing leakage in several sections, in several cases caused dirty water to be supplied to parts of the city.
Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has finished the process of replacing the water line in several stages. In final stage, the line was replaced from Saidpur Road to Waris Khan Stop. This was a one and a half kilometre stretch of line which has now been connected to the main water line passing Murree Road. Water supply has also been resumed from the new line.
Recently, the Government of Punjab also approved a project to arrange water supply for the city from River Jhelum which will provide Rawalpindi with 70 million gallons of water per day.
