Rawalpindi: While speaking to the media, the Federal Parliamentary Secretary Sheikh Rashid Shafique said that 9 union councils will be added to the jurisdiction of the Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation and that the budget had also been released for a number of uplift projects under the metropolitan corporation – a news source reported.

Providing further details, he said that PKR 30 million had been reserved for pedestrian bridges on Airport Road.
He added that the union councils had been included in the metropolitan corporation to help resolve various problems, including issues with the streetlights. Additionally, patchwork of the roads and the construction of Bagh Sardaran Road had also been initiated, with grants issued for both.

The secretary further added that a gas pipeline had been approved for Shakrial, along with a children’s playground.
