Karachi: The newly appointed Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) Director Iftikhar Ali Qaimkhani has affirmed that his first priority is to free Karachi from illegally carried out construction activities, reported a news source. Qaimkhani expressed these views while presideng a meeting soon after he took charge of his new position.
He also said that order passed by the Sindh High Court to make lease, sub-lease and sales deed mandatory for approval the building plan will strictly be implemented. Talking about construction of high-rise buildings on residential plots, Qaimkhani said such construction practices has plagued the city’s beauty and is causing serious harm. If not stopped, such buildings can end up collapsing, causing major losses.
