Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to plant 30 million new saplings over the next three months, according to a news report. The announcement came from Punjab Chief Secretary Akbar Durrani while he planted a sapling at the Civil Secretariat as part of this campaign.
Durrani further said that all necessary instructions had been issued to all departments and the deputy commissioner to make tree plantation campaign a success. He also added that the campaign is geared towards ensuring plantation is carried out on a regular basis and labelled it as a service to humanity. He highlighted the importance of looking after the saplings after plantation to ensure maximum care.
