Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has inaugurated two reverse osmosis (RO) plants outside Qari Khushi Mohammad Park and the Education Complex on Murree Road, according to news published on October 18. As per the details shared, the initiative is aimed at providing clean drinking water to the residents.

Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta unveiled the RO plants, which were established through a partnership between the RDA and the Saylani Welfare International Trust. Previously, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two organizations to install RO plants at various locations in Rawalpindi. The installation of these RO plants cost approximately PKR 1.4 million, and the project was completed within two months.
During the inauguration, the commissioner emphasized the importance of using water judiciously, considering it a blessing from Allah. He urged the public to avoid wasting water and commended the Saylani Welfare Trust for its commitment to installing more water filtration plants.
Representatives from the welfare trust announced plans to install additional water filtration plants at various locations in the coming two to three months.

RDA Director General Saif Anwar Jappa stressed that the RO plants were established for the welfare of citizens. These plants will provide clean drinking water not only to hundreds of government employees but also to the surrounding communities. He further highlighted that the RO plant project aligns with RDA’s ongoing welfare initiatives and expressed their intention to continue planning similar projects.
Jappa also mentioned an agreement with the Saylani Welfare International Trust to activate 15 tube wells of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), with the ultimate goal of ensuring a clean and accessible water supply for the citizens.
