Peshawar: The Peshawar Development Authority’s Board of Directors (BoD) on Monday (August 15) decided to issue Letters of Intimation (LOI) to the proposed New Peshawar Valley Project landowners, news sources reported. The LOI will be issued to the owners under the newly proposed land sharing formula devised by the authority and approved by the provincial cabinet.

Reportedly, the decision was made during the civic body’s 9th Board of Directors meeting, which was chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mehmood Khan. On the occasion, CM Mehmood asked the authority’s members and development team to complete the construction of the various ongoing development works in the New Peshawar Valley Project. He said that the project is of extreme importance to the citizens and aims to provide a modern housing scheme for the citizens. During the meeting, the following decisions were made:
- The board constituted a committee under the supervision of the Minister for Finance to make necessary amendments to Peshawar Development Authority’s Auction Regulations 2021. The said committee will submit its proposal to the board for final approval.
- The board approved regularising 22 remaining contract employees of the authority recruited under the deceased-son quota.
- The BoD has also approved the land record Management Information System (MIS) for the New Peshawar Valley Housing Scheme to digitise all matters related to the land records of the housing scheme.

On this occasion, the chief minister directed the relevant authorities to expedite progress on building an access road to the New Peshawar Valley. He also directed the concerned departments to make meaningful efforts for the urgent settlement of Regi Model Town’s Zone I, Zone II, and Zone V concerns.
