Peshawar: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mehmood Khan on Thursday (July 21) directed concerned authorities to establish a temporary site office for the New Peshawar Valley Project, news sources reported. The office will be used for the deployment of security staff for the project site.

The directives were issued during a high-power meeting convened to review the project’s progress. During the meeting, Khan directed that a permanent site office be built as soon as possible to ensure that the project is completed on time. The meeting was informed that the concerned authority would identify land for setting up a permanent site office in the coming days. Sources also confirmed that the Project Concept-1 (PC-1) of the New Peshawar Valley Project has already been prepared.

CM Mehmood also asked concerned departments to send intimation letters to landowners by July 25 to complete the project on time. In response, the authorities’ representatives informed that the intimation letters to the landowners would be sent soon as per the decided land sharing formula. Reportedly, the government has already confirmed the acquisition of 13,898 kanal land for the project.

Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the sanitation, plantation, and security of the Hayatabad Phase V project. The minister instructed the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) to complete the preliminary work of installing fences and gates to ensure the residents’ safety.
