Peshawar: The Peshawar Development Authority’s Board of Directors (BoD) approved the master plan of New Peshawar Valley – the mega housing project of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government, according to a news story published on June 1.

The master plan was approved in the 8th board meeting chaired by Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan. During the meeting, the attendees were informed about the master plan and revealed that the housing project will be developed on 186,400 kanals of land. The following is the detail of the allocation of land under the New Peshawar Valley project:
- 41% of the land is reserved for residential plots
- 28% for the construction of roads
- 16% is allocated for parks and open spaces
- 7% for public buildings
- 5% for commercial activities and parking
- 2% for a graveyard
As per the details, the master plan will feature 62,056 residential plots of different categories while 8,000 kanal are reserved for the provision of residential plots on a need basis. Here are the details of the plots:
- 16,312 plots of 3 marla
- 17,201 plots of 5 marla
- 3,402 plots of 7 marla
- 9,526 plots of 10 marla
- 13,415 plots of 1 kanal
- 1,494 plots of 2 kanal
- 706 plots of 4 kanal
Moreover, the project will include Media Enclave, Education and Health City, Sports City, and Civil Secretariat; all of which will feature state-of-the-art facilities. The housing project will also encompass a mega park with the nomenclature of “Khyber Park’. It will have Gandhara Museum, adventure arena, theme park, cultural villages, forest, and other recreational facilities.

CM Khan directed the authorities concerned to speed up the process of issuance of intimation letters of plots to the owners of verified lands according to the devised formula. He also asked to expedite the process of verification and acquisition of the remaining land under the land-sharing formula.
