Peshawar: In a review meeting held on Wednesday (April 6) to review the progress of the New Peshawar Valley City project, the attendees were informed that the work on the feasibility study, planning, and detailed design for the project is underway, according to media reports.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan chaired the said meeting and ordered the concerned authorities to complete all the prerequisites to launch the development work on the project. Peshawar Development Authority Director General, Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Peshawar Commissioner Riaz Mehsud, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Secretary Local Government Mian Shakeel Ahmad, and others attended the meeting.
It was notified that the planning and design process is expected to be completed by May. The meeting was also informed that a preliminary zoning plan for New Peshawar Valley City has also been prepared. Also, it was highlighted that the land acquisition is being executed through the land-sharing formula. So far, as many as 286 application forms had been issued to the landowners.

Reportedly, the relevant deputy commissioners had finished the verification of 6,571 kanals of land for the project. CM Khan directed the officials to expedite work on the project to complete it within the stipulated time.
