Lahore: The Punjab Development Working Party (PDWP) has greenlit the construction of new Government Officers Residence (GOR) near Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase-9 in Lahore and other development schemes, according to news published in the leading newspaper on September 8.

In the 15th PDWP meeting, chaired by Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Chairman of the Planning & Development (P&D) Board, approval was granted for six development schemes spanning the road sector and public buildings. These projects come with a combined estimated cost of PKR 5,612.725 million.
One of the standout projects receiving approval is the construction of GOR near DHA Phase-9, with a budget of PKR 1,644 million. Additionally, the meeting greenlit the construction of a multi-storey building designed for residences of Grade 11-14 for the Staff Colony at Chauburji Garden Estate on Multan Road, with a rationalized cost of PKR 780 million.

Furthermore, the attendees approved the provision of essential facilities at the Board of Revenue, with an allocated budget of PKR 1,011.511 million. Another noteworthy initiative given the go-ahead is the construction of a flyover at Railway Phatak Chak RS Shujabad Expressway, covering a length of 1.08 kilometers, in District Multan. This pivotal project comes with an estimated cost of PKR 1,024 million.
