Islamabad: The government has nominated Sabbar Zaidi as the new chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), reported a news source. As of yet, no official notification for this appointment has been issued.
Source claim that this communique would be publicized once the federal cabinet approves the nomination.
The cabinet, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, is expected to meet today to deliberate this issue. The PM disclosed the nomination while speaking to journalists earlier this week.
The nominated FBR chairman is a professional chartered accountant well known for his contributions to the domains of fiscal law and taxation. Zaidi has also served as the chairman of the South Asian Federation of Accountants, and as president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
