Lahore: The Punjab government has appointed Ahmed Ali Dareshak, a lawmaker from Rajanpur, as chairperson of the Board of Directors (BoD) of the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA), a news source reported.

However, the provincial government has yet to appoint the other members of the board. Previously, a senior official had rejected a PLRA summary seeking changes in its composition.
The BoD consists of 16 members including nine commissioners, the PLRA director general (who serves as the board’s secretary), and six private members nominated by the provincial government.
Meanwhile, the PLRA staff has requested the authorities concerned to resolve the issues pertaining to jobs regularisation, the promotion policy, as well as administrative and operational matters.

They have also requested the government to appoint the other members of the Board of Directors on an immediate basis; in a bid to address the concerns of the PLRA employees.
