Islamabad: The newly-formed board of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday announced its decision to transform Islamabad into a tourist-friendly city, according to news sources.

The board further decided to functionalise libraries and hold activities on national culture. The meeting decided to create a facilitation centre to promote tourism. This centre will offer special guidance to tourists regarding the available facilities.
The meeting also decided that the existing libraries in the city will be operationalized immediately to encourage book-reading culture. Other plans included arranging culture shows and celebrations to highlight the national heritage.

Moreover, the CDA board reviewed the sanitation situation in the capital city and issued instructions for its further enhancement. In addition to sanitation, directives were also issued for improvement in the road infrastructure.
