Lahore: The new building bylaws for Lahore have been finalised and drafted, and they will be implemented following the approval of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Vice Chairman Sheikh Muhammad Imran – a news source reported.
The bylaws were decided in the 9th Meeting of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Governing Body and they primarily relate to the promotion of vertical development and construction of high-rise buildings in the city.

According to LDA sources, the authority’s revised building regulations call for the length of hospital parking areas to be increased from 100 to 200 metres. Additionally, hospital visitors can also use public utility sites for parking purposes. Furthermore, medium-rise apartment buildings (160-feet high) can now be constructed on 30-feet roads.
The authority has also allowed 10-marla apartment buildings to (individually) maintain 450 sq ft shops on their ground floors.

The meeting amended the LDA’s Building and Zoning Regulations 2019 framework to introduce these changes.
