Lahore: Nestlé Pakistan has joined Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s ‘Clean & Green Pakistan’ environmental initiative by kicking-off a countrywide tree plantation campaign, a news source reported.
The mineral water firm recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) agreement to this effect with the Ministry of Climate Change. It has pledged to plant 50,000 trees in its operational areas spread across Pakistan.

Nestlé Pakistan organised its inaugural plantation event in Jallo Park. As per reports, this project will also focus on sanitation and hygiene, besides providing potable water to communities.
Freda Duplan, CEO of Nestlé Pakistan, said that the organisation wants to achieve a ‘zero environmental impact’ rating against these operations. She also lauded the government’s commitment towards developing more green areas in the country.

In response, Adviser for Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said that the environmental initiative aims to create a cleaner and greener Pakistan. He stressed on the need to preserve the country’s natural resources.
