Lahore: The Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project is working at its full capacity of 969 Megawatts (MW), stated a news report. However, the project’s four units are working on a trial basis, generating 242.25 MW each. The Wapda Chairman Lieutenant General Muzammil Hussain congratulated the team working on the project.
According to the spokesman for the project, the project has been completed in phases and is a state-of-the-art power-generation project. The project is 90% underground and is constructed on River Neelum with a dam at Nauseri and an underground waterway system consisting of 52 km-long tunnels and underground powerhouse at Chattar Kalas.
