Islamabad: The engineering community has expressed the need to utilising hydropower resource as a means to overcoming energy crisis in the country, stated a news report. During a seminar held at the Institute of Engineers in Rawalpindi, Islamabad Centre (IEP-RI), the members highlighted the importance of hydropower as an effective resource to meet the growing energy needs of the country.
The seminar was aimed at creating awareness about the importance of hydropower and its role in the country’s socio-economic development. The seminar was headed by Heavy Mechanical Complex Taxila Deputy General Manager Dr. Ajaz Bashir Janjua who gave a detailed presentation on ‘Utilization and indigenization of hydropower as a renewable source in Pakistan’. This event was attended by a large number of professionals.
