Islamabad: Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on National Health Services (NHS) Dr Zafar Mirza recently announced that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had dispatched personal protection equipment (PPE) to 152 hospitals across the country, a news source reported.

As per the publication, the medical supplies including masks, PPEs, and other equipment funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have reached Islamabad. The NDMA will disburse the equipment further across the country.

Dr. Mirza said that the health authorities had prepared a list of 400 hospitals, of which 152 were provided with the necessary medical supplies for one week. He revealed that the distribution had been made in 21 hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 4 in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), 42 in Sindh, 74 in Punjab, and 4 in Balochistan. He added that that the PPEs would be replenished for those hospitals which had utilised their share.

In a separate proceeding, the KP Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) dispatched PPEs to three hospitals in the province.
