Islamabad: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat recently approved a bill to facilitate the formation of the Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority, a news source reported. The decision came during a meeting held at the Parliament House chaired by Member National Assembly (MNA) Syed Amin-ul-Haque.

The Naya Pakistan Housing Development Authority will be an establishment placed under the direct command of the Cabinet Division, and would be registered under the law. The committee was informed that the corporation would work on real estate and housing development in the public sector, while also striving to provide affordable housing opportunities to low income groups.

The authority will be concerned with housing and real estate affairs, while dealing with everything related to land and construction. The committee approved the bill to make its way to the National Assembly.
