Karachi: The Naya Nazimabad management has refuted the rumours concerning the cancellation of its housing scheme’s leased status, a news source reported. To this effect, the administration has issued a clarification regarding the alleged ‘misinformation’ circulating on social media.
Naya Nazimabad is a housing project by Javedan Corporation Limited (JCL). According to the developer, this gated and master-planned project features international-standard amenities – with 6,000 residential units owned by the general public.
With regard to the rumours on cancellation of the society’s
leased status, the management issued a detailed statement. It stated that the
ownership of Naya Nazimabad land was ‘absolute, clean, lawful, and clear’. It
added that the authorities concerned had carried investigations on the matter
and the courts had declared Naya Nazimabad to be a legal residential project.
The statement said that several agencies, including the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Board of Revenue (BOR), and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had inspected the housing society and found no legal/financial discrepancies on this front.
It added that the company had the land in its possession
since its nationalisation via the Economic Reforms Order 1972. It further
stated that the group company had obtained approval from the Lyari Development
Authority (LDA), BOR, and Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) prior to
commencing with the development work in the scheme.
The society’s management further clarified that they had created the Gath/Wadh (survey) form 35 after fulfilling all requirements. It added that the form’s cancellation was illegal, so it was restored. Several documents and reports of BOR can confirm the form’s genuineness, the statement read.
Due to panic created after the circulating rumours, Naya
Nazimabad management said it had issued the statement to restore the public’s
trust – including that of middle-classed and overseas Pakistanis –in the
housing society.
