Lahore: The Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) on Sunday (March 13) announced a gross deposit of PKR 735 billion in the first seven months of the fiscal year (FY) 2022 from July 01 to March 10, news sources reported. The current fiscal year’s yearly objective is PKR 980 billion.

According to the statistics given by the authorities, the massive collection was attributed to the government’s measures that encouraged savings through incentives. According to reports, the government has gradually upped the yearly collecting objective from PKR 250 billion in FY-2021. While the target for FY-2020 was set at PKR 352 billion, and PKR 350 billion for FY-2019.
According to the senior official, the CDNS is developing digital apps to assist the online purchase of newly registered premium prize bonds of PKR 40,000 and 25,000 digital bonds, issued by the government to boost people’s trust and convenience of investment. He added that efforts had been made to enhance people’s interest in savings plans and government-sponsored securities.

According to the official, the CDNS would use RAAST in the current month of January for faster flow of cash through its financial tributaries for better and more effective electronic transfer of funds.
