Lahore: The railways department plans to construct a tunnel on the railway track that leads to Kartarpur Gurdawara in Nankana Sahib – a news source reported.
A meeting to this effect took place in Lahore. Commissioner Dr Mujtaba Paracha presided over the meeting. Nankana Sahib Deputy Commissioner, representatives of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (PSGPC), and other officials were also present.

Commissioner Dr Mujtaba Paracha said that the tunnel will ensure hassle-free entry of Sikh pilgrims. The proposed tunnel will be 205 metres long and 15 to 16 metres wide. The department officials will soon prepare a feasibility report.
The commissioner said that the Evacuee Property Trust Board (EPTB) and the Punjab Education Department will issue an NOC in the near period. The Divisional Intelligence Committee recently allowed the construction of the tunnel.
