To this effect, NADRA officials stated that the authority would help the provincial government verify the NICs provided for obtaining cash disbursements. They said that NADRA could also help verify the family tree of a person so that no more than one person from a single family would benefit from the government’s cash relief programme.
On the other hand, NADRA clarified that it does not maintain data of labourers and daily wagers; stating that it was a provincial subject.
The Sindh government intends to register the needy people who seek the cash relief facility due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will then get the NICs provided verified from NADRA so that no one exploits the programme.
