Lahore: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced that an estimated 365,000 people have been registered in the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP), according to the news sources.
These people have registered themselves for the project through the online system NADRA introduced in July. Presently, 7,500 NADRA e-facility centres, and three special camps (located at Raiwind, Chuhng, and Ferozpur Road), are helping people get the required information about registration for this project.

An official explained that the registration for NPHP is open until 15 October, with people only needing to pay a fee of PKR 250, and have a Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) to get registered. Keeping in view the large number of applications, the government will use balloting to choose eligible people, he added.

Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the NPHP last month, under which 5 million low-cost houses have been promised to under-privileged families. These houses will be developed within a five year period, based on a public-private model, with the government providing the land and private entities building the houses.
