Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) issued a notice to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on the bail petition of Zahoor Wattoo, owner of the Formanites Housing Scheme, on November 6.
According to a news source, NAB arrested Wattoo, who is also a former Union Council nazim, to investigate a PKR 1.5 billion fraud. Bureau officials alleged that Wattoo had swindled many people through his fraudulent housing scheme.
As Wattoo is still on physical remand, NAB objected to LHC’s notice and said bail could not be sought while he was still in custody. However, Wattoo’s counsel said that the court order allowing NAB physical remand of his client was also challenged.
The court has adjourned the hearing till November 11 and NAB has been directed to submit a reply to the bail petition.
