Lahore: A team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officers recently paid a visit to the LDA City project site to inspect the pace of ongoing development work, a news source reported. This project is being developed by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA). In a related development, Zameen.com recently acquired the exclusive rights to market and sell this project’s inventory.

The NAB team expressed satisfaction over the work pace and directed the development authority to take it up by a notch. They also received project briefing from the LDA officials, who informed the NAB members that the civic agency had commenced with the preparations to link LDA City with Defence Road, Lahore Ring Road (LRR) and Ferozepur Road.

The 2.5-kilometre-long and 200ft-wide road is expected to be constructed in Mouoza Panju and it would provide direct access to LDA City Phase I Jinnah Sector from Defence Road, LRR, and Ferozepur Road following its completion. The road will be named ‘Chenab Road’.

LDA Director General Sameer Ahmed Syed paid a visit to the road site last week and inspected the planned route. He also directed the contractor to initiate the process to start development work on the road on a priority basis. As per informed sources, the LDA had asked the National Engineering Services of Pakistan to invite applications from registered engineering forms for the construction of this road by January 27.

Furthermore, to acquire land for the construction of Chenab Road, the provincial government has already issued the notification for imposition of Land Acquisition Act Section 4, while notification pertaining to the imposition of Section 5 is expected soon.
