Earlier, NAB had successfully applied this information reveal mechanism to the Defence Road and Khayaban-e-Amin society as a model project. Now, the bureau has decided to replicate it across the region.
To facilitate this measure, it has imposed the requirement of displaying complete details on project site; including maps of the approved areas, as well as clearance certificates from the relevant regulatory bodies. It has also directed the societies to affix maps of blocks at their entrances.
Additionally, following this mechanism, housing societies will provide guidelines to members at the society’s office. The society office will also provide details about land reserved for public building, and if a certain property was already developed or awaiting construction.
The anti-graft watchdog has forwarded its instructions to all regulatory bodies. These include the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), the Cooperatives Department and the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA). The deputy commissioners of Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Sargodha have also received these instructions.
